The exercises are very gentle and mostly done sitting in a chair,with a few done in standing, but the benefits are great as we can stretch every joint and muscle in these positions.

Research has shown that it is far more beneficial to exercise in a group situation.

You will be assessed on the first attendence, by a Chartered Physiotherapist who will discuss your problems with you, and decide which exercises will be safe for you to do.

The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guideline recommends acupuncture as one of  three suggested treatments of choice within the National Health Service.(this does not address severe disabling low back pain)

The recommendations are to offer one of the following treatment options.

An exercise programme.

A course of acupuncture or manual therapy which should involve a maximum of 10 sessions, over a period of 12 weeks.
